William James "Bill" Rogers (10 January 1887 – 6 July 1971) was a New Zealand politician. He was a long-serving Mayor of Wanganui, and a member of the New Zealand Legislative Council from 1940 until its abolition in 1950. ==Biography== Rogers was Mayor of Wanganui from 1927 to 1931, and again from 1935 to 1953. He contested the , , and s in the electorate for the Labour Party, but lost to Bill Veitch, the incumbent. He was appointed to the Legislative Council by the First Labour Government, and was a member from 15 July 1940 to 14 July 1947; and 15 July 1947 to 31 December 1950.
